About the role

This is a great opportunity to join the team at an exciting moment, as the person to own and lead our marketing operations. In the months ahead we’re planning to scale what we spend on marketing and where we spend it. Currently we’re only using Facebook but this role is about taking our marketing far beyond that. There is plenty of scope to make this role your own whilst making a meaningful contribution to our success!


As a digital marketing operator, you’ll take ownership of running our marketing campaigns on Facebook and other digital marketing platforms. You’ll use your past day-to-day experience of using Facebook’s Ad Manager to run large campaigns to make sure ours are cost effective and running efficiently. 


You’ll work to understand our user audience. To do so, you’ll run experiments to discover the most effective marketing, and carry out user research. Our team has a good understanding of our user audience to date and you’ll learn from their experience as well as sharing back new things you learn.


You’ll create new ideas for campaigns and marketing messages that would help us acquire more users at scale. You’ll thoughtfully iterate your ideas up from small experiments to successful marketing strategies or campaigns.


You’ll implement your ideas through collaboration with the team. That could be working with designers on advert creatives and landing pages. Or collaborating with engineers to embed metrics in our site to understand the success of experiments or marketing campaigns.


You’ll use your past experiences of other ad platforms, such as Google Ads or Twitter, to help us expand marketing beyond Facebook. You’ll use your knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses, together with experimentation, to decide where it’s most effective to deploy budget, and how.


You’ll also lead our written communication, using language that our users find compelling. This might involve writing copy for adverts, our website, emails, or other marketing materials.


You’re comfortable with an ever-changing environment where experimentation and user feedback will continue to change our priorities and shift what we’re building, without losing focus on the product vision and business mission.


And most of all, you’re excited and motivated by our mission of helping people to get a better job! You'll find ways in which to make the role yours, and carry out initiatives that we haven't thought of yet.

Benefits

Location: London, although entirely remote during Covid-19. We don’t know yet where our next office will be (post Covid-19).


Salary: £35-45k per year, based on past experience.

The interviewing process will be in three steps:

  • first we will invite you for a 20 minutes chat over the phone in order to understand your previous experiences and answer to any questions you may have about this role;
  • If both sides decide this could potentially be the right opportunity for you, we will proceed to a second interview (on a Zoom call) with two of our co-founders to get to know you better and to cover some technical questions about operating Facebook marketing campaigns;
  • Finally, you will have a Zoom call with two other team members to discuss your ways of working, so we get to know you better and you get to know us.
